Mountbatten is a Holsteiner Stallion by Romedio (Rigoletto x Waldenser) from Tiffiny ter Brokeford (Better Lad x Spiritsail).
Mountbatten was the first of Romedio's Australian born progeny to compete in dressage. He was hugely successful winning in every level including Grand Prix.
In 1990, under rider / trainer Louise van Gaal Mountbatten was the first Australian horse to score 65% overseas under International judges. In 1991 he was sold in the USA and under the name St. Tropez was ridden by Jason Canton at Grand Prix level and was long listed for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
