Riptide BFD is the current stud stallion at Brokeford. He is proving an outstanding sire, breeding progeny that have high general standards of conformation, temperament, movement and size.
Riptide's bloodline is a deliberate concentration of the Romedio line. He has inherited all the good points of his grandsire, conformation, temperament and genetic predisposition. He is a stallion who throws on his type and temperament very, very well. Unfortunately, due to an catastrophic injury to his pastern and hoof at the trainers he has never competed.
Sire: Rembrandt x Romedio. Rembrandt has bred progeny who have excelled in both dressage and jumping. They have been exported to NZ, USA and Asia. Rembrandt was very true to his Ramzes heritage breeding great conformation, type and generally throwing horses with much more size than himself. Rembrandt was an extremenly talented showjumper.
Dam: Flashback BFD x Mountbatten. Flashback is without a doubt one of the finest progeny of Olympic longlisted stallion Mountbatten. A scopey, rangey mare with lots of movement and a sweet, sensitive temperament. Riptide is her oldest, largest offspring but we have also retained two daughters. |
