Dessie

as a 2yo

Desdemona is one of the earliest of the Brokeford broodmares and has had an enormous impact on our breeding program. We are unsure why she was so small but her full brother Stockholm was 16hh and her full sister Dominica bfd is 16.3hh and Dessie has always thrown quite a lot larger than herself.

Her first breeding was to the Romedio son Mountbatten. The resulting daughter is Flashback bfd (the dam of our stallion Riptide bfd and this year a magnificent filly by Budweiser). Bred to Mountbatten again she had the successful riding horse "Icefalcon".

She was then bred several times to Romedio and had progeny exported to the US and Indonesia and also produced the beautiful daughters Foxtrot and Caitlin bfd.

Dessie has been bred 4 more times but always to produce colts - the last one in 2006

And then in 2008 she gave us a strapping big filly again.
