Plantagenet (Lelu) was bred to be a competition horse but the unfortunate loss of her mother 6 months after Lelu's birth left us with no choice but to keep Lelu as a broodmare to carry on the line. And a brilliant broodmare she has become. She has bred two daughters and raised an orphan foal for us.

Walk: active and neat with good clean 4 beats and an obvious ability to lengthen and shorten.

Trot: excellent activity and good use of the knee and hock. A big mare who moves lightly.

Canter: great activity and spring which is naturally engaged and active. Extremely balanced and athletic.

So far Lelu has bred one foal with exceptional talent for dressage (Rubinesque Bfd) and one who shows natural talent for jumping (Phylicia Bfd)..

Lelu as a 4 year old filly. She was bred by frozen semen to Rosario (PSI Germany) and produced a lovely filly.

Lelu is 3/4 sister to Argentum, 7yo one* eventer.

sire: Riptide Bfd

Sire: Riptide Bfd is a son of the exported jumping stallion Rembrandt and a grandson of the Olympic long listed (US Team) dressage horse Mountbatten. His first crop of foals (4 altogether) were born in 2001.

Dam: Paris Bfd is a daughter of the champion imported Holsteiner Romedio. Romedio has sired horses that have reached international level in dressage and showjumping. He is also a super grandsire being the dam sire of European jumping sensation Lyra (Grand Prix of Rotterdam and many others) and Danish Young horse champion Ivita II and also sire of Ashleigh warmblood studs foundation stallion Ashleigh Brigadier - progenitor of Olympic showjumper Ashleigh Drossel Dan

Three full brothers to Paris Bfd have been exported as jumping horses - two to the USA and one to Korea.

In 2006 Lelu was bred to the imported jumping stallion Renegade Z.

We are most impressed with her filly - paddock name Lucy.

Lelu (Plantagenet) is an irreplaceable broodmare. Not only because she carries precious bloodlines and has wonderful conformation and an amazing temperament but also thanks to her amazing maternal instinct.

In 2008 one of our top broodmares - Alante Bfd - died 8 hours after foaling. We put the word out for a mare who may have lost her own foal but when the colt was 7 days old we introduced him to some of our dry mares. Within 3 days Lelu had started to make milk for the orphan colt and by 14 days he was being weaned off formula and by 3 weeks was fully supported by Lelu.
