Colour: Chestnut / grey colt
Born December 2006
Height: 24 months, 161 cm
Expected to mature at 170cm (16.3hh)
Socks has been named Montevideo Bfd in honour of the rare double cross of the GP dressage stallion Mountbatten.
A powerful colt with loads of bone and excellent conformation. Will develop into a big horse with the strength, bone and muscle structure to carry it off.
Big bold paces and natural balance. Will suit dressage and show as a hunter.
With proven rideability from the pedigree that produced Grand Prix dressage horses Mountbatten, Roanoke (Emy Schmul), Romboli (David Quick), Rubens (Miguel Tavora) and succesful jumping horses Rembrandt, Ruby Red and numerous others.
Socks is developing into a big powerful 2yo who might surprise us and reach 17hh so isn't for the rider who wants a smaller horse.

Sire: Riptide bfd carrying a double cross of the imported champion Romedio via Mountbatten (Grand Prix dressage & US Olympic Team listed) and Rembrandt (showjumper).
Dam: Aliantha bfd one of the foundation mares of our stud. She is sired by the Romedio son Mountbatten (Grand Prix dressage & US Olympic Team listed). Her dam Caroline is a daughter of the wonderful Flaneur mare Fleur (Holsteiner) and the thoroughbred stallion Hawah Mahal owned by leading Australian horseman, Malcolm Barnes. Good temperament, exceptional soundness and a great paddock attitude have made Aliantha one of our favoured mares even at the age of 21 years.
Soundness, Trainability, Rhythm, & Balance these are the most important attributes of a competition horse. Socks has these in abundance.
