For the van Gaal family, the breeding of Holsteiners began with the
purchase of the yearling Holsteiner colt Siegfried in 1975 and
several quality thoroughbred mares.
Hans van Gaal had the desire to give his children the opportunity
to ride horses that would take them all the way from Pony Club to
International level competition.
By combining the best of Austalian TB blood with the superior
imported champion Romedio and the foundation Flaneur
bloodlines Brokeford have bred horses that have competed at the
top levels of sport.

so that Australian riders can continue to take them from the lower
levels all the way to the top of competition.
